Sunday June 24, 4:30pm

I walked outside and looked up at the sky. Golden afternoon light cast softly over three ibises perched on the neighboring unit’s antenna.

I thought how the last light of winter can make a muse of even the most uninspiring creatures.

The serene ibises faced toward the early rising moon, three quarters full and ethereal against the blue sky.

Three wise men, guided by the star of Bethlehem I joked to myself.

I wondered if it was a sign that the baby, now four days over the predicted due date, would soon arrive.
